I bank with Truliant Federal Credit Union. They require a special password
to access information with Money 2005. Truliant's site allows the use of
special characters in passwords. My password contains the "$" character.

After supplying my username and password to MS Money 2005 to retrieve my
account details, the following message is presented:

<<Red Exclamation Mark>> Your password cannot contain special characters
(such as punctuation or symbols).

Is this an issue with Money or my banking instituion?

Kind regards,
Orlanzo

I had that problem with Money 2004. In my case Money had somehow gotten confused
about the password rules for various financial institutions. It was insisting my bank's
password had to be four numeric digits, but I had a longer alphanumeric password. As I
recall, the thing that seemed to fix it was picking some other institution I didn' t bank with
and tried to setup online access with it, which of course failed. Then when I tried the real
bank again, it worked.
